Microbiology Specialist
Job description
- 1. Microbiological Testing
- Perform microbial limit tests, endotoxin tests, sterility tests, etc. for raw materials, finished products, and product stability studies;
- Collect environmental monitoring samples, validate HVAC systems, water systems, compressed air, nitrogen systems, and conduct Media Fill validation;
- Prepare culture media and reagents, use and store media after preparation, and perform growth promotion tests;
- Use and store culture media, chemicals, and reagents;
- Participate in subculturing and maintaining microbial strains, check microbial strains and biological indicators;
- Prepare and monitor the use of disinfectants;
- Use and maintain microbiology laboratory tools, instruments, and equipment.
- 2. Participation in OOS/OOT and Deviation Investigations
- Participate in investigating and handling out-of-specification (OOS), out-of-trend (OOT) results, and related deviations, and implement corrective and preventive actions when applicable.
- 3. Other Tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Microbiology Team Leader/Supervisor;
- Report any arising issues to management and relevant departments.
Requirements
- 1. Education
- Graduated from Intermediate/College/University in Biology, Biochemistry – Microbiology, or Pharmacy.
- 2. Experience and Professional Knowledge
- Preference for candidates with experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing plants, especially EU GMP facilities;
- At least 1 year of experience working in a microbiology testing laboratory is an advantage.
